Thought Leadership on the Sales Profession Conference, Stanford Business School

20 February 2019

Bringing together the world’s foremost sales thought leaders from practice and academia, the Thought Leadership on the Sales Profession is held every two years at premier business schools. Past events have been hosted at the Harvard Business School, Columbia Business School, and HEC Paris.

The 2019 conference takes place 30-31 May at the Stanford Graduate School of Business in Palo Alto, California. The two-day event is broken into both morning and afternoon sessions. Morning sessions include keynote presentations as well as plenary panels delivered by distinguished authors and industry experts. Afternoon sessions consist of TED-style talks in which academics will present their research in the areas of professional selling and sales force management and practitioner panels will respond with key insights and suggestions for future research. Some events have been planned for attendees outside of the normal hours of the conference that will provide additional opportunities to both see more of the city and network.

This year’s conference features a keynote from Mark Hurd, Chief Executive Officer at Oracle.

The Sales Management Association is pleased to sponsor and assist in producing the Thought Leadership on the Sales Profession Conference, as it has since its inception in 2014. Conference founders Michael Ahearne (University of Houston) and Thomas Steenburgh (University of Virginia) provide managerial direction and executive ownership of the conference.
